Mise en Scene evaluation by Matt

For the opening shots done in my room (matt's) we decided that the posters were wrong for the type of nerd we had chosen (based on the character Mc Lovin from Super Bad) so we re shot them in Joel's room where we placed things like game boys, pokemon, sponge bob square pants and world of war craft memorabilia around the room.

As well as nerd related past times we also placed school books around the room and made the bed room look messy with clothes thrown every where. The Wii was used to show how the character of Christopher (joel) is very unsporty so would rather play virtual tennis by himself than go outside. The Wii was used as a "punch line" after Mike says beating it all day to show Christopher winning at Wii boxing.

We placed a scene of the two characters having a glass of ice to show that being ice cold is cool this was done to the style of Edgar Wright who directed Shaun of the dead and Hot Fuzz both films have his unique look into the future plans which never go as planed much like the idea for the rest our film.

The music we used is by the band All Time Low who are an american Punk Pop band which fits the stereotype of the buddy comedy happy music but also its a music type popular with the movie "nerd" stereotype.

The shopping scenes were filmed in Cabbot Circus as it a new shopping area so fitted with the character of Mike and was believable place that he would come to shop and get Chris sorted out. The changing room shots were film in clothing federation on park street as they are a independent shop rather than a large chain they had no problem with us filming inside the shop.

The character of Mike was loosely based on the character of Barney from the Tv sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" played by Neil Patrick Harris he loves to wear suits and is the essence of cool, much our character of Mike.

One of the T-shirts that Joel wore in the changing room scene had the evolution of man on it with the man ending up in front of a laptop showing the state he was in  before Mike decided to sort him out.
